Regional Map of Pamirs, Gorno-Badahshan, Tajikistan by Gecko Maps

Two-sided, folded, tourist map of The Pamirs and Gorno Badakhshan region of Tajikistan, is one in a 3-map set that covers all of Tajikistan and large areas of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan at 1:500,000 scale (7.9 miles to one inch). The Pamir Mountains are the junction of Tian Shan, Karakorum, Kunlun, and Hindu Kush ranges and are among the world's highest mountains. The Swiss cartographic firm, Orell Fussli Kartographie AG, has produced the beautiful, handpainted hill-shading with hypsometric tints that depict elevation. Map shows roads, towns, trekking routes, distances, summits, natural features and historic and tourist sites. Insets of the towns of Khorog and Murghab. Placenames on the map include Kashgar, Jirgatal, Tashkurghan, and Wakhan Corridor. Text on history and information useful for the visitor is on the reverse side of the map.
Swiss based cartographer Arne Rohweder set up his company Gecko Maps about ten years ago. They publish road and trekking maps covering Southeast Asian countries such as Tibet, Nepal, Cambodia and Laos.
